I wasn't aiming to visit Alnmouth but it's where I ended up. I was surprised there was free parking right next to the harbour and had a lovely walk along the beach. With more time I'll be back to visit some of the pubs and cafes.

Best Value Yacht Club in the UK!
A boat club for anyone in the area with any boat under about 25ft that can take the ground at low tide.
Due to the nature of the sandy estuary and the picturesque setting in a Marine Conservation Area and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the facilities are necessarily basic and include dinghy park, launching ramp and water tap.
However, the RABC has probably the lowest fees of any yacht club in the UK, whether you are a Social member or a boat owner.
The Club also organise many events, several of them for the public - Winter Programme meetings, Volcano Night, Push the Boat Out, Regatta, Row to Lesbury and several Cruises in Company.
See riveralnboatclub.org for details.

Lovely scenic place and good for dog walks or just a stroll along the beach.... the only downside is you often have to go around the loop 2 or 3 times to get a parking spot.
