Lovely warm welcoming pub. Real fire, friendly helpful staff and good food. Vegan and gluten free options for my friend too. This was our second visit since the new management and we will be coming again.

Stayed here whilst walking the King Charles III England Coast Path, the Sun Inn is directly on the path. Very friendly and accommodating, they don't serve breakfast (Dec 2023) but gave recommendations for nearby establishments.

Went for lunch twice over a two week period. Wasn't stating here so cannot comment on rooms. Service was excellent on both occasions, food was brilliant too (Amble Butcher's steak pie, fantastic in itself). We went to The Sun a few years ago and were underwhelmed; on these two visits we loved it and will definitely make this our lunch destination when in Alnmouth. Dog friendly too. Brilliant! Had dinner there the other night after a walk on the beach nearby and really enjoyed the warm and friendly atmosphere of the pub. We enjoyed some delicious kastu curry and some pie and chips and the service was really lovely. Five stars!

We’d been here previously and been looked after by Kirsty (who we are delighted is still here). We stopped by for lunch this year (previously rooms have been super comfortable for our family of 4 and very clean, so I know that as Kirsty still looks after things, it will still be perfect). The menu was really varied, very generous portions and delicious food. We had an amazing ploughman’s, bread board, tacos of the day and it was all delicious. The staff are working really hard to get it where it used to be and they were super welcoming and efficient. Thank you!
