Unbearable noise from the accommodation above. Dog barking all night, stomping on the floors and childish retaliation from the owner of the property above when we requested that the dog be quietened which resulting in us having to relocate to the single, children's beds in the back of the property order to get any sleep. We spoke to the owner of the booked property about the issue and were given an "it is what it is" response. Accommodation not as described; stated a king-sized bed which was actually a double. All small things but added up to an unsatisfactory stay and poor value for money.

We had booked this property several months ago and were very much looking forward to our week at Sefton House, which had come highly recommended from our friend. However, ahead of our stay we read the recent post and became somewhat anxious about out stay. It was a celebration weekend for our family and we wanted it to be perfect. As soon as we arrived at Sefton House our concerns completely melted away. Sefton House is a big roomy town house just one 1 min walk to the beach. We were a large group and we never at any time felt cramped and as well as the large space, it was a luxury for us to all have private en-suites - always a good idea with teenagers in tow. The beds were all divinely comfortable with crisp white sheets. Yes, the dining table was a different colour, but so what! and that room wasn't as sunny at certain times of the day as the front of the house, but we are used to this as our home is of similar style nd it certainly wasn't an issue when we were having dinner in the evening. We not only came for the accommodation, which after a hard day of walking and sunbathing, was a very welcomed retreat, but for incredible coastline. We all left feeling relaxed and very happy and agreed that we would recommend Sefton House for a seaside holiday.

Great location and building but fittings and fixtures very poor. E.g. many of the bedroom windows were jammed shut and the wardrobes which couldn't accommodate a hanger were literally falling apart. Parking tricky.

Fantastic house. Very cosy, loads of character and great facilities. Kitchen is superb and very well stocked; everything you need for a large group. The open fires are great and plenty of wood provided; even prepared for the first one. The house was clean on arrival. Heating was efficient and added to the coziness. Decor different in each room. Great place for hide and seek. Kid friendly and useful ground floor bathroom and bedroom for those with mobility issues. All in all; we had a brilliant time in this house and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Well, what a fabulous surprise. Upon arrival we instantly noticed the cleanliness of the gorgeous and well proportioned house. Literally 2 mins walk from the sea front too. A wonderful sized front room, dining room, kitchen and various bedrooms and shower/bath rooms. A courtyard with total privacy and an amazing array of furniture both indoors and out. Fully equipped kitchen and continuous lashings of hot water. The central heating was great and on top of that, there was a lovely log burner in the front room, making it so cosy. We were very lucky with the weather considering it was March and I am sure we made the most of the enormous and virtually empty sandy beach. Pros: Pretty much everything. Cons: Nothing of any consequence. Well done Alison in providing an exceptional self catering holiday home.

We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate a 50th birthday. We were a group of 6 friends and particularly enjoyed being able to each a have a large well furnished bedroom. Simone was very friendly and helpful. When we told her we couldn't find the bread knife she swiftly came round with a new one! Apart from that, the kitchen was well equipped and like the rest of the house, very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the comfortable living room and took advantage of the logs provided by Simone to light the stove which gave an added touch of character. The location of the house is excellent for the village and the beach and we were able to park right outside. This is a lovely house. It is large, well furnished and decorated, well-equipped and an excellent choice for large groups. We will happily go again and are recommending it to friends.

Sefton House is a lovely welcoming place, right in the heart of Alnmouth with its beautiful beach, shops and pubs. It is huge and well suited for family reunions. Parking is easy and we were able to leave the car for the duration of our stay as everything we needed was within walking distance . The rooms are furnished tastefully and it has a cosy feel. There is everything needed for a comfortable stay and we have only happy memories of our days there.

Having recently been to Sefton House. I can honestly say what a perfect example of 1st class luxury accommodation, which naturally compliments the beautiful surrounding area of Alnmouth. Just for anyone like myself who is review led in choosing a holiday or break, I can wholeheartedly state that some reviews are quite misleading and in my own opinion Sefton House is a perfect example of eclectic refinement and luxury😊😊😊😊😊. I would recommend anyone who was looking for a great relaxing break...
